In Wichsenstein, the rock needle of the same name rises up, which can be climbed via a staircase. Once you reach the top, you have a fantastic view of Franconian Switzerland. But first you have to climb 190 steps.
The viewing rock is around 30 meters high and is a remnant of an old castle complex. Only very few remains of the walls of the former Wichsenstein Castle on the steeply rising rock in the center of the town remain on a ledge at the western foot of the main rock.
