The Can Barbes restaurant in Pontós opened its doors three years ago. But experience in hospitality comes from afar. "My parents started with a restaurant in Mieres, in la Garrotxa", explains Jordi Arboix, owner and head chef of Can Barbes. Arboix is a home-grown professional, he studied at the Escola d'Hostaleria de Figueres, completing his training with internships at Antaviana and at the Pirineus Hotel in the Empordà capital. Some of the house's most special dishes include chicken with ratafia, stewed beef tongue and lobster rice.

At the head of the restaurant he is getting many good results and the comments of the customers place the one in Pontós as a gastronomic space with a magnificent treatment. They say it is an "authentic experience of close and family care" and that they offer "excellent care, good food, tasty and plentiful", and there are those who make it very clear that you cannot leave without tasting the rice!

At Can Barbes, the fork breakfasts and the exceptional menus with an unbeatable value for money, which varies between 11 euros for the daily menu and 15 euros on public holidays, also stand out.
