The Temple Mount is a high plateau in the Old City of Jerusalem, built by Herod around 2000 years ago. This place is of outstanding importance for the three world religions Judaism, Christianity and Islam. In Hebrew the Temple Mount is called Har haBáyit in Arabic al-haram ash-sharif.

For Jews it is the holiest place, since according to biblical tradition the First and Second Temples stood there, for Christians the Temple Mount, or rather what was then the Second Temple, is of the greatest importance, since when Jesus died on the cross the curtain to the holiest and the way tore opened up to God for all people. For Muslims, the rock surrounded by the Dome of the Rock is the place from which their prophet Mohammed started the journey to heaven as described in the Koran.

The Dome of the Rock is an Islamic shrine located on the Temple Mount in the Old City of Jerusalem, a site also known to Muslims as the al-Haram al-Sharif or the Al-Aqsa Compound. If you lucky enough to enter to Dome, you will be amazed by it's history and beauty.
