The architect of this building on the Grand'rue, built in 1606, was none other than Albert Schmidt, who also designed the so-called Johanniterhaus (1608) and the Kopfhaus (1609). Built in the German Renaissance style, the building has three floors and is framed at both ends by a volute gable and a corner bay window, which enhance the building.

This elegant Renaissance building with a volute gable is articulated by a series of arcades and two corner oriels, framing the three stories of the façade facing the Grand'Rue. It was designed by none other than Albert Schmidt, who also created the House of the Knights of St. John and the House of Heads. The building once served as the residence of the clergy of the Lutheran church.
