The historical statue of the Immaculate Virgin Mary (Socha Panny Marie Immaculaty) stands at the top of the two-wing staircase from the parking lot on Smetanova to the Church of St. Nicholas and St. Elizabeth.

The construction of St. Nicholas was probably started in 1220-1230. Only the west portal, parts of the north portal and the lower part of the east towers remain from the former basilica.
The floor plan is similar to that of Bamberg Cathedral, which was probably the model. The three-aisled nave, the presbytery and the sacristy date from the Gothic period. After a fire in 1742, the towers were rebuilt with baroque domes based on a design by Balthasar Neumann, who was born here. In April, the roof was destroyed by a bomb attack.
