The life-size bronze of the Dithmarscher chronicler and second Büsum pastor Johann Adolfi (Johann Adolf Köster), called Neocorus, was commissioned by the Henriette-und-Wilhelm-Schmidt-Engels-Foundation in 2009 in Jens Rusch's studio in Brunsbüttel. Because little is known about Neocorus' appearance, the artist reconstructed his habit and clothing based on contemporary accounts.

pastor dr Dietrich Stein served as a living template for the wax model. His historical knowledge as honorary chairman of the Association for Dithmarscher regional studies shaped the presentation.

The naturalistically depicted Neocorus is working on his "Chronicle of the Land of Dithmarschen" on the passage in which the question as to why there are no fortifications and fortresses here is followed by the meaningful answer that there is something far more powerful here, namely unity and concord. The open page shows the equivalent in Luther's hymn "A Mighty Fortress is Our God". His detailed descriptions of the manners and customs of the 16th century and not least of the Battle of Hemmingstedt served subsequent generations.
