Do you fancy experiencing a traditional English High Tea, then the pump room is for you. This hall overlooks the Roman Baths and was completed by city architect John Palmer in 1795. It is now an elegant tea room offering High Tea packages with a bit of flair ( and also a bit pricey) but the experience will not be forgotten.

The television series "Treasures of the World - Heritage of Humanity" shows the culture-loving viewer world heritage sites on every continent in quarter-hour segments (in German). The following text is used as an introduction on the website of the film documentary about the world cultural heritage site 'BATH': "In the middle of a gently rolling park landscape in the south of England lies the spa town of Bath. Bath became fashionable after a visit by Queen Anne, who stayed here in 1702 and thereby triggered a renaissance of the rather run-down spa town. The Pump Room was built directly above the old Roman bath. The hot mineral water was drunk here in the early hours of the morning to the sound of classical music."
