The Peperbus is a late Gothic tower in Zwolle belonging to the Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption. "Pepperbus" is actually the nickname of the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwetoren, which the tower owes to its shape, which resembles a peppercorn. This tower is the symbol of the city of Zwolle. Just like Utrecht has the Domtoren and Groningen the Martini, Zwolle has its Peperbus. Together with the Sassenpoort it is the city's logo and still dominates the Zwolle skyline. Until 1669, the 113.5 meter high Michaelsturm was the highest point in the city.

The present church was built in four phases. The choir was built in the years 1394 to 1399. Then followed the construction of the transept and the easternmost nave yoke, which was completed in 1417. 1454 stood the nave. From 1463 to 1484 the tower was built, which is popularly known for the appearance of the 1540 lantern with dome "Peperbus" (pepper shaker).

Between 1580 and 1810, the church was used for secular purposes. In 1809 it was handed over to the Catholics, who took it after repairs in 1811 for worship in use. The attached during a restoration in 1871 aisles were removed in 1975. In 1999, Pope John Paul II raised the church to the Basilica Minor. Since 2006, the remains of Thomas von Kempen lie in the Liebfrauenbasilika.
