The Lido, a former cinema from the 1950s, is located on the corner of Schlesische Straße and Cuvrystraße. Before the Wall was built, there was a veritable cinema mile in this area. You could pay here with West and East marks, and a corresponding number of East Berliners made pilgrimages across the Spree in the evenings for entertainment. Since 2006, the Lido has been a club with live concerts.

The LIDO counts itself as "one of the most important and popular clubs in the city" and describes itself on its website as "Kreuzberg's rock-indie-electro-pop living room couch".
In the 1950s and 60s, Schlesische Straße was Kreuzberg's cinephile street par excellence. If you were an East Berliner who wanted to see Western films, you couldn't avoid the LIDO. In the 1970s, the "Westside" (as it was called at the time) was trendsetting in terms of rock'n'roll. After decades of inactivity, the LIDO reopened its doors in May 2006. Since then, the LIDO has been one of the most important and popular clubs in the city, especially in Kreuzberg, of course. Source: lido-berlin.de/pages/das-lido
