Ribe Å is a small river that frames Ribe on all sides. The main arm meanders through an undeveloped meadow landscape in the south of the city, in the city center the harbor on the Skibsbroen forms a beautiful panorama for the viewing terrace of the Kolvig Gaard.

A weir, over which the Ribe Å rushes day in and day out under the Mellemdammen into the harbor basin, forms a pretty lake landscape between the town museum and the meadows. Two tributaries flow around the city to the north and south, until all the arms come together at Riberhus Castle and later flow into the Danish North Sea.
