The Old Walloon Hut (Stara Chata Valonska) is the seat of the Walloon Brotherhood. This association has been cultivating the heritage of the Walloons since the late 1990s. Settlers came to the Giant Mountains from what is now Belgium in the 12th century. They were experienced treasure hunters and mineral experts and prospected for gold, amethysts and rubies in the mountains.

The seat of the Walloons, medieval masters in the mining and processing of natural wealth, iron ore, metals, gems and quartz.

The old cottage is located at the intersection of the Česká stezka, which leads from the source of the Elbe, a prehistoric cult site, and the black circular tourist sign around Szklarská Poręba.

There is a sculpture workshop on the premises of the cottage.

Meetings are held in the dark rooms of the lodge, during which it is possible to learn about the history of the Walloons in the Sudetenland and the old rumors and legends associated with these mountains. The rich collection of semi-precious stones and minerals also includes those from the Krkonoše Mountains. The offer for organized groups (of more than 20 people) includes the possibility to obtain the so-called first degree of Walloon initiation.
