The museum of the town of Hilpoltstein is located in the rear building of the brewery inn of the same name "Schwarzes Roß". Here, among other things, part of the preserved battlements of the city fortifications as well as collections on the city's history can be viewed. On the property there are also the remains of one of the oldest breweries in Bavaria, the malt house and beer cellar are still preserved. The branching cellar labyrinth comes mostly from the Romanesque period and can be viewed in a guided tour - just like a preserved section of the medieval Reichsstraße (source: City of Hilpoldstein).
