Lock on the Main-Danube Canal. Offers beautiful views over the canal. There is a viewing platform which can be climbed. From there you can observe how ships overcome the approximately 25 vertical meters.

I found the so-called "height of fall" impressive...almost 25 m according to Wikipedia - the difference between the water level before and after the lock. I don't know anything like that from the locks here in the Odenwald and it's probably the highest drop that has ever been built in Germany. And when the water in the lock is low, the long narrow shaft (it is only 12 m wide) through which the ships enter is already very impressive.
