The Manshovenhof is a closed farm with a 17th-century core. The complex is accessible via two cobblestone lanes and is surrounded by meadows and orchards. It is located north of Heks castle and on the border of Broekom (Borgloon) with Heks (Heers) and consists of brick buildings on a pricked brick plinth and under gable roofs with Flemish tiles, around a rectangular yard. Manshoven was a former fief of the counts of Loon, first mentioned in 1365. The Manshovenbos is located north of the Manshovenhof and connects to another forest complex, the Magneebos; both are ancient oak and beech forests with remarkable fauna and flora. The Manshovenbos is located on a hill, the Sint-Servaasberg, and belonged to the domain of Heks Castle, which Prince-Bishop de Velbrück acquired for himself as a hunting ground. Like the Magneebos, it is probably a remnant of a much larger forest complex. Furthermore, orchards and hawthorn hedges, meadows and forest edges.
