Old railway station Tongeren-Sint-Truiden: From 1879 this railway brought industry to southern Limburg and transformed Haspengouw into the current blossom paradise. With the rise of road traffic, the use of the train decreased, so that in 1965 the last freight train ran on the Sat. Currently it has been transformed into a beautiful walking path with woody vegetation on both sides

Beautiful nature trail on the old tram line 23. History and walking pleasure go hand in hand here.

Much of Haspengouw's sweat was transported along this line to the heavy industry in Liège. So be happy that you can walk past here, it was once different...

At the end of this path, if you want, you can relax with a drink and something to nibble. If you then have to follow the road to the right, I would watch out for bicycle traffic and walkers who walk on the wrong side of the road, at those times it can get scary, so pay attention.
