ハイキング
The former Imperial Post Office from 1883 on the Schuhmarkt is a good example of public buildings from around 1900. The design was by Prof. Hubert Stier from Hanover. Today it serves as the "Imperial Post Office" hotel.

In 1883, the contractor Herzog bought three plots of land and immediately demolished the buildings on them. Immediately afterwards, the foundation stone was laid for the imperial post office. The architect Prof. H. Stier was commissioned by the Technical University in Hanover. He designed the building in the style of historicism with a reinforced concrete skeleton construction.
The façade elements made of cast concrete used for this purpose were still available in 1910 and thus the extension cultivation on the shoe market side could easily be cited.
