Barcelona's Head, known as La Cabeza de Barcelona or La Cara de Barcelona is a sculpture by the American graphic artist Roy Lichtenstein, an exponent of North American pop-art and made by the sculptor from Badajoz Diego Delgado Rajado in the years 1991 and 1992. In those years, the city was undergoing a radical change in infrastructure and urban decoration to host the 1992 Olympic Games.

The Face of Barcelona on the Paseo Colón.

The sculpture is located on Paseo Colón, near the Post Office and Telegraph building, perfectly visible thanks to its 15 meters high and 6 meters wide. The work was made with eight prefabricated pieces of artificial stone, stainless steel staples and a ceramic coating that totaled 90 tons in total, it belongs to a series of faces entitled Brushstrokes (brushstrokes). It is designed as large brushstrokes that form the face on a background of chromatic dots of red arranged in relief and covered with mosaic, as a tribute by the artist to Catalan modernism.

The Face of Barcelona (also called the Cape of Barcelona) [2] is a large sculpture by American graphic artist and sculptor Roy Lichtenstein, made in collaboration with Extremaduran sculptor Diego Delgado Rajado. ] It was built at a time when the city was undergoing a radical change in infrastructure and urban decoration in order to host the 1992 Olympic Games.

The work is located on Passeig de Colom in Barcelona, near the Post Office and Telegraph building, and is perfectly visible thanks to its 15 meters high and 6 meters wide. The work was carried out with eight prefabricated pieces of artificial stone, stainless steel staples and a ceramic coating, totaling 90 tons. It belongs to a series of faces by the same author entitled Brushstrokes. It is designed as large brushstrokes that form a face on a background of red chromatic dots arranged in relief and covered with mosaic, as a tribute to this element of Catalan modernism. Red dot fonts frame the work in the movement known as pop art.
