Just like the other 13 urban market halls of Berlin, the Arminiusmarkthalle was built in the late 19th century. At that time the magistrate tried to enforce better hygiene regulations and a uniform food supply of the population through the market halls. In the Arminiushalle you can therefore still today from Monday to Saturday fresh fruit and vegetables, meat products, cheese, bread and much more shopping. The offer is rounded off by a diverse selection of restaurants.

Food stands Monday to Friday 8 to 20 clock

Saturday 8 to 18 o'clock

The Moabiter Markthalle, opened as Markthalle X in 1891, was built according to the plans of the architect Hermann Blankenstein within just one year. The main entrance of the market hall is located on the Arminiusstraße in the Berlin district Moabit.

The building is the tenth of 14 covered market halls, which were to replace the open market deemed unsanitary after a decision of the Berlin City Council in 1881. The rapid construction of the buildings was possible because prefabricated components and a modern iron construction were used at the time. ...

Until the end of 2013, the brewery of the BrewBaker brewery was located directly in the market hall, but the bar is still there.

Noteworthy is the art installation Gebetomat by Oliver Sturm in the main course. The machine modeled on a photo booth can play over 330 prayers in more than 65 languages ...

Nice that the 10th Berlin market hall from 1891 is still preserved. It was revitalized like so many other market halls. However, there is not the typical market hall flair as we know it from southern Europe. It's more like a food temple. Also good: at least the buildings are still preserved.
