One of the larger breweries in the city with over 500 seats. The quality of both the beers and the kitchen is in no way inferior to the smaller breweries. Of course, all beers of the brewery are tapped directly from the barrel.

Opening hours of the restaurant:

Monday to Friday 10.30am to 11pm

Saturday, holidays 10am to 11pm

Sunday 10 to 22 o'clock

In good weather, the beer garden is open from 16.30.

Kitchen:

Monday to Friday 11.30am to 2pm and 5pm to 9pm

The Klosterbräu is the oldest brewery in Bamberg. It is located in the so-called mill district directly on the Regnitz. Today's Klosterbräu, named after the nearby Franciscan monastery Bamberg, was founded in 1533 as the Prince-Bishops' Brown Beer House. A first documentary mention as a brewery, however, the house was already in 1333. Until 1790, the beer house was owned by the respective prince-bishop of Bamberg.

In 1851, the brewery buildings were bought by Peter Braun from Kitzingen. Until 2017 she remained in the possession of the Braun family. Since February 1, 2017, the brewery and restaurant of the Bamberg brewery family Wörner, which already operates the brewery Kaiserdom and the inn brewery Kronprinz, both in the district Gaustadt.

The list of offered beers is long. Of course, there is brown beer, but also a very dark "Schwärzla", gold pils and full beer, and also a wheat beer ("brown white") is not missing. In the autumn, of course, Klosterbräu Bock is brewed, at the time of its infusion there is also a large crowd.
