For me the most beautiful part in this park. Very attractive and tastefully landscaped garden with tea house, streams and oases of calm.

In the center of "Planten un Blomen" lies the Japanese Garden, the largest of its kind in Europe. In the Old Botanical Garden you will find the matching Japanese landscape garden. At least on a Sunday morning they fulfill their meditative claim of being places of silence and reflection.

In harmony with East Asian aesthetics and philosophy, plants, rocks and water combine to form an idealized, reduced image of nature. Here visitors can put the hasty Hamburg city life behind them and reflect on the elements of nature and on themselves.
