The island bridge (Latvian: Salu Tilts) is a bridge that crosses the river Daugava in Riga, the capital of Latvia. The bridge was built in the period from 1975 to 1977. The Salu tilts (Island Bridge) in Riga is an impressive structure that crosses the Daugava and connects the islands of Zaķusala and Lucavsala. When you are on this bridge, you get a completely different view of the city - the calm waters of the Daugava below you, the bustling city in the background and the sprawling parks on the islands.

The bridge has an interesting history: until 1991, it was known as the Moscow Bridge, a relic of the Soviet era. Today, it is not only a convenient connection between the city's districts, but also a place to enjoy the tranquility of the river landscape, especially at sunset. The warm light reflecting on the water's surface creates an almost picturesque atmosphere.

For cyclists and walkers, the bridge is ideal for exploring the green islands. From here, you can easily get to Lucavsala, a popular recreational area with plenty of greenery and leisure opportunities.
