This place is called the so-called Chancellor's Corner. It is named after Konrad Adenauer, who traveled the railway branch line here during his visit in 1957. The railway line has since been dismantled and is now a great cycle path 👍

From here you have a beautiful view of Oppenheim and the surrounding area. From a distance you can see what an impressive building the St. Catherine's Church must be.

The winery owner Heinz Seip from Nierstein always had the idea of building vineyard houses at prominent points in the Nierstein district, from where one can enjoy a wonderful view. Out of joy at the birth of his daughter Karin, he built the Trutzturm on his vineyard "Auf dem Gemarkrech". After standing empty for a long time, the tower has been renovated by the radio amateurs of the local Nierstein-Oppenheim association since 2001 and is used as a clubhouse in summer.
