The inconspicuous St. Nicholas Chapel has an eventful history. A story like something out of a heroic epic from the early Middle Ages. Until 1256, Vianden was subordinate to a neighboring community under canon law. In 1248, the Count of Vianden settled Trinitian monks in the upper town, who were the first to build a church within the castle walls of the upper town. That's how the argument started.
