It always looks absolutely beautiful in winter. It's just as enjoyable to run in the snow as it is in 30-degree heat. Great trail! From the Roman villa to the Old Pleiner Mill, it's the most beautiful section for running. 🏃‍♂️📯❤️🙌

Perfect for running in warm weather

An information board and a ground marker indicate that the 50th parallel north crosses here. The back of the information board explains that this path is part of a hiking trail, aptly named "Gradwanderung," which crosses the 50th parallel more than 25 times.

The synagogue in Wittlich was built in 1909/10. During the pogrom on November 10, 1938, the synagogue's interior was vandalized by SA men and others. In 1939, the city of Wittlich purchased the building, which had served as a prisoner of war camp during World War II. The approximately 250 Wittlich Jews were expelled from the city, with the last deportation taking place in 1942. One-third of the members of the Jewish community were murdered in concentration camps.
