During our tree-planting event, we planted six new service trees on the property with the goats. I'm excited to see what they'll look like in a few years! 🤩 The service tree (Sorbus domestica)[1] – also known regionally as Spierling,[2] Sperberbaum, Sperbelbaum, Sporapfel, Spierapfel, and Spreigel[3] – is a species of tree in the genus Sorbus (rowan) within the rose family (Rosaceae).[4] It is considered a wild fruit tree and is one of the rarest tree species in Germany; in 1993, the service tree was chosen as Tree of the Year here due to its declining population.

Top-notch after-run refreshments on-site. Canned beer is always cold. 10/10 🏃‍♂️🍻👌

Via the highlight "Hellsklamm" you can get to Bausendorf

Here a bridge leads over the Alfbach. When you cross it, you will have a beautiful view of the water.

The playground is definitely worth a detour and a break. Especially if you are traveling with your kids. In addition to numerous play equipment in nature, there are also picnic benches and tables.

Confluence point: This highlight is intended to assist "confluence point hunters" in route planning and, with the help of photos, provide clues about the expected terrain. Confluence points are geographical points where integer latitudes and longitudes intersect; the point here has the coordinates 50,000° North and 7,000° East. It is located in the undergrowth of a forest, a few meters from a forest path and only 50 meters from its junction with a country road. There is no marker. The "Degree Confluence Project" is a global project that aims to visit all of these points and document them in images and text. This endeavor is by no means entirely pointless, as it does provide a sample-based documentation of the composition of the entire land area of the Earth's surface. It cannot be ruled out that this could even be of scientific use one day.
