A lovely hike with a fair amount of elevation gain. The paths are a combination of tree roots and rocks. There are a few short (slippery) scree slopes with ropes to guide you. At the top, near the hide, it takes a bit of finding your way. Komoot describes this hike as easy with well-maintained paths, but we see it differently. You'll need to pay close attention to your footing regularly.

Värmskog Church was built from the remains of two earlier churches, one from the 13th and the other from the 17th centuries, which are still visible. The stone church was built between 1760 and 1763, but was destroyed by a devastating fire in 1799. The church has been renovated, and its furnishings include a unique 9th-century picture stone, the so-called Värmskogsgripen. The site of two older churches, from the 13th and 17th centuries, is marked by exposed foundation stones.

Mining was common in the area in the 19th century. It primarily involved copper, silver, lead, and zinc ores. Mining was most active here in Vegerbol. Operations began in 1808 and continued, with some interruptions, until 1816. Thirty years later, work resumed. Mining was economically viable for several years. During the most productive years, around 150 people were employed here in crushing, sorting, smelting, and transport. From 1852 onwards, mining was only carried out intermittently and on a small scale. Around 1870, mining ceased for good.

Lars Magnus Ericsson, the founder of the Swedish telephone industry, was born here on May 5, 1846, and spent his childhood here. Here you'll find an exhibition of telephones and other equipment from Ericsson's early production, as well as the history of the company and the life of Lars Magnus Ericsson. In addition, there's an adjacent mineral museum with minerals from the surrounding mines. The Vegerbol Silver Mine is about a 1.3 km walk from the memorial garden. Tours are possible by prior arrangement.

A very beautiful church with a cemetery. Good parking for a walk on the Silverleden trail. Across the street is the Ericsson Memorial. There are often good musical events!
