Hiekko is an unofficial but popular swimming spot located between Sysmä and Hartola, right by the roadside near the turnoff to Liikola. It has a shallow, sandy beach that’s ideal for families with small children, offering safe and easy water access. Although not a maintained public beach, many cyclists and locals stop here for a quick swim during summer rides. There are no services, so visitors should take all rubbish with them and respect the natural setting. The beach is directly accessible from the road, making it a convenient stop for a short break.

gently rolling and winding, traffic mostly okay but can get (too) busy in peak hours (Friday and Sunday evenings May–Sept), good asphalt

new asphalt almost throughout, some short sections with older but still okay asphalt (might have something to do with the weird course of the municipal/provincial boundary here: Pertunmaa has new asphalt, Hartola does not...), gently rolling and winding, not too much traffic

Kammiovuori translates to “Chamber Mountain” and it is the highest spot in the Eastern Häme (Tavastia) region. From up here you have a wide view over the forest and all the lakes.

You can almost catch a glimpse of the lake nearby but it's mostly blocked by trees and cottages. Road is in good condition.
