The large, solid wooden figure of Pechmarie stands a little to the side in the shade. In the fairy tale of Frau Holle, Pechmarie is a spoiled, lazy girl who bosses her stepsister around. She also wants to go to the kingdom of Mrs. Holle to be showered with gold. But she is lazy and has no desire to do Mrs. Holle's work. As a "reward" she is showered not with gold, but with black pitch.
