“The Second World War was nothing but endless horror: humiliation, persecution, torture, murder, genocide. In the end, more than 60 million people in Europe were dead, six million Jews murdered, millions more left homeless, orphaned, broken, wounded, and starving,” Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier emphasized in his speech on May 8, 2025. “And yet, there was also this: hope and gratitude. (…) Today, 80 years later, we are also deeply grateful for the reconciliation, for the trust that so many countries placed in us after the war. For the reconciliation with our neighbors… For the miracle of reconciliation… We Germans cannot be grateful enough for this gift of reconciliation!” And so it is an unending task of the memorial (war memorial) standing here to keep alive in the consciousness of each new generation the memory of the horrors of war, as well as the longing for peace, the miracle of reconciliation.

Like almost every place, Pressath also has its war memorial to the senseless world wars.

As in many other places in Pressath, there is a war memorial in the Pressath Prof. - Dietl - Anlage to commemorate the fallen and missing of the past wars. Nice and well-kept area.
