The Heckel Brewery in Waischenfeld is one of the smallest breweries in Germany, as the beer is only served in the pub. Bottles are not sold, but you can, of course, bring your own container and take the tasty beer home with you. In my opinion, they serve some of the best beers in Upper Franconia. Opening hours are: Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday from 4:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Sundays from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.

The Taschnerfelsen is a rock face near Neuhaus, a district of Aufseß in the Bayreuth district of Bavaria. It is designated as a geotope and natural monument. The rock is a popular rock face among climbers. Note for climbers: Too many climbers use the areas in the immediate vicinity of the wall to climb. This has caused so much discontent among local residents that there is now talk of closing the wall. Therefore, please only park in the designated areas and accept a longer walk!

On the road from Aufseß to Hollfeld, in the district of Sachsendorf, there is a beautiful little chapel. It is especially worth a visit in the evening, when the light of the setting sun breaks through the glass mosaic at the back of the chapel and the interior shines in an impressive light. At Easter time, the women of the village decorate an Easter fountain right next to the chapel with around 500 self-painted eggs.
