The former Church of the Eucharist was rebuilt in the 12th century, where the relics of the Apostle Matthias were discovered, brought to Trier from a pilgrimage to the Holy Land. Pope Eugene III consecrated the new church, renamed St. Matthias. Soon after, a stream of pilgrims began, which continues to this day.

It's a perfect spot for a photo, especially against the backdrop of the neighboring Gothic and Baroque houses on the Market Square. When strolling through the Old Town, you simply can't miss the Red House—it's a bright accent in the city's architectural palette. 🎨✨ I highly recommend stopping, reading the sign, and soaking up the atmosphere—there's something special here!**
