It's always worth a hike there. Just because of the wild horses and the really great paths. You can hike there for days and still not have done all the paths - just great. When you consider that this whole area belonged to the US armed forces that were stationed in Erlangen - what an area in and around Erlangen alone

The "Five Riflemen" are a former fortification in Uttenreuth. With this weir system, the Schwabach was dammed by the five gates that have since been dismantled. The dammed water was channeled to Buckenhof via a moat to irrigate the meadows in the floodplain. Nearby is the so-called Indian Gorge, an idyllic place in nature.
