The Hausen Wall was probably created by a landslide at the end of the last Ice Age. At the foot of the wall you can still see the masses of rock and rubble that have slipped. The demolition wall provides an insight into the structure of the White Jura. The Tübingen geologist Friedrich August von Quenstedt described it as a “geological window”. At the time of the Jurassic Sea it was part of a huge reef. The alternation of limestone and marl in the White Jura Gamma and the onset of blurring in the White Jura Delta are clearly visible on the wall. In the lower area, layers of the White Jura Alpha can still be seen. On the edge of the Hausener Wand it is possible to climb to a viewing platform from which you can see over Hausen an der Fils and the Upper Fils Valley.
