Originally, a magnificent medieval church, which early antiquarian records state was a large building with a tower, transepts and a tiled floor at the east end, by the 19th century, the building was demolished, and replaced by the current building somewhere between 1872 and 1875.

A lovely quiet spot free of traffic (apart from air traffic flying into Stansted).

The church is your marker for the start of some excellent local trails. A little climb up to it from the south. Enjoy the porch of the church where you may find some biscuits if you're lucky!

Beautiful area of walking along the River Lee Navigation. Opportunities to spot baby Gosling, Ducklings & baby Cygnets.

This is a nice, quiet rest stop for MTB, gravel or road ride.

Situated among rolling Hertfordshire countryside, Wareside includes the hamlets of Babbs Green and Bakers End. It's a delightfully rural community and features on the Hertfordshire Way long-distance trail. Notable buildings include the Holy Trinity Church, which was built in an interesting Lombardic style in 1841 and is Grade II-listed. After a long day on the trails, put your feet up in the Chequers Inn, which serves good food.

The Jolly Fisherman is a lovely pub with plenty of outdoor seating.
