We were here on a Tuesday in September. Unfortunately no drinks are served. Nevertheless, visually a very nice hut. Attention, the Schafisteig above the hut is closed until further notice.

As the most easterly 2000s of the Wilder Kaiser, there is a wonderful view, as expected. The ascent can be done either directly from the eastern Hochgrubachkar or in connection with the Ackerlspitze via the Hochsessel. The latter is probably the most frequently chosen variant, since the two peaks can be wonderfully connected and the ascent is better in this direction, since the technically most demanding point can be mastered upwards in this way. The view stretches from neighboring Kaiser peaks such as the Ackerlspitze or the Vorderen Gamsfluegen over Chiemsee, Hochgern and Hochfelln, Sonntagshorn, Loferer and Leoganger Steinberge and, among others, the Großgockner and Großvenediger in the main Alpine ridge and much more.

This imposing rock arch is crossed on the connection between Ackerlspitze and Maukspitze. A small highlight on this way.

Magnificent panoramic summit. At 2,329 m, the Ackerlspitze is the second highest but relatively rarely visited peak on the Wilder Kaiser. Technically feasible due to the insurance in the hardest part, but not to be underestimated due to the length of the tours that lead up here. The descent is recommended via the Maukspitze, not least because the view from there is just as magnificent, but also because the descent there is technically easier and more pleasant. You should also bring a rockfall helmet with you, there is a lot of loose rock, which can quickly get rolled by advancing hikers or chamois.
