A beautiful path along the Schwarzbach with information boards

Beautiful mountain hut, friendly staff, easily reachable goal with a path through the woods in two hours. Or without poetry with a forest road.

The Schwarzach is an approximately 42 km long river in East Tyrol. It rises in the Schwarzachtal at almost 2500 m. On its way to its mouth in the Isel it flows through the Defereggental. It is very relaxing to walk along the banks of this mountain river.

St. Jakob is a beautiful, quiet place in the Defereggental in East Tyrol. If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of tourists, this is the right place for you. There are many opportunities for wonderful hikes or leisurely walks. Recovery is certain.

Together with the waterfall, the Stadtner Mühle is a worthwhile excursion destination. In summer you can watch the grain being ground.

The small chapel was built in 1669, renovated in 1764 and partially rebuilt in 1785. Renovations took place in 1950, 1990 and 1999. The simple, largely unadorned building has a flat barrel vault on the inside. A canopy painting was uncovered in the apse in 1991. The altar consists of a copy of the famous Innsbruck Mariahilf picture by Lukas Cranach and was given a new frame with a wreath of rays in the early 1950s.

The Stadtner Mühle was not always located at the waterfall in Maria Hilf. It used to stand in the Maria Hilf district of Pötsch and was reinstalled a few years ago by the waterfall in Maria Hilf. The "Stadtner Mühle" owes its name to the locals, because they also call the district of Maria Hilf "Stadt".
