If you are already at the Reichenberger Hut, it is worth taking a short detour to Lake Bödensee.

The Stallersattel is a mountain pass that connects South Tyrol and East Tyrol. At the same time, the border between Austria and Italy runs here. On the Austrian side, the pass road is well developed and easy to drive on. On the Italian side the road is narrow and can only be driven on alternately in one lane. From up here you have a beautiful view in all directions and you can enjoy a walk around the Obersee.

Beautifully located lake on the Stallersattel. If you like it quiet, this is the right place for you. It's worth walking around the lake; it's easily doable even for people who aren't that good on foot.

The hut was built in 1926 by mountain comrades from Liberec in the Ještěd Mountains, today Liberec in the Czech Republic.

The Staller saddle is much more than just a border between Austria and Italy, much more than just a connection between the Defereggental and the Antholzertal. In summer, the Obersee is a popular destination. The lake invites you to take a short walk along the shore around the lake or just relax in the sun. The Staller Sattel is also a popular destination for one or the other mountain hike, such as a mountain tour on the Rote Wand.

The Staller saddle marks the border between Italy and Austria. The winding pass road leads up to an altitude of 2,052 meters. There is a small snack bar at the top. The special feature is the one-way regulation with traffic lights on the Italian side. There is a driving license every hour from the 1st to the 15th minute from the Staller saddle down to Lake Anterselva and from the 30th to the 45th minute from the lake up to the pass crossing. In the summer during the holiday season it can be quite crowded at times due to its popularity - so it's worth visiting on days with less stable weather - the falls are just as beautiful and you can enjoy them almost alone. Light is also great in the later afternoon hours.
