Concrete bunker built in WW2 as defence against invasion, quite common across the UK especially in the South and East. This one now stands in a field of wheat.

The name Hinxton is a contraction of Hengestestun, "the town of Hengest".[2] The village of Hinxton is listed in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Hestitona, as Hyngeston in the Ely Registers of 1341 and Hengestone in the Ramsey Chartulary. Heading North a bit inconvenient as you need to carry the bike over the stairs with no ramp/elevator present.

The church dates from the 13th century. Local legend claims that silver bells from the church tower were hidden in an underground passageway which ran between the church, the Old Vicarage and the Crown House Hotel to keep them safe from government soldiers. They have never been found, although some traces of the passageway have been uncovered. A nice quiet spot for a break.

All Saints is a pretty flint church that was founded in the 13th century. The Grade I-listed church has had some issues with its west tower, though, which was rebuilt in the 15th century after being destroyed and once again after it fell down in 1790.
