Donkey Beach is a secluded beach in the northeast of Kauai. The beach was a very popular nudist beach, but isn't anymore as the current owners decided against it. As the water is pretty rough here, it's not the perfect beach for swimming and snorkeling, but still a very nice spot for sunbathers and to take a little break after a long day

Shipwreck’s Beach is a long stretch of golden sandy beachfront on the eastern side of Poipu. There are resorts and a large and grassy county park facility around Shipwreck Beach, and on the east side, there are some hiking trails around the cliffs. For most of the year, advanced surfers should paddle out to a short shore break. As long as visitors are safe around the shore break and keep their distance, they can walk, sunbathe, and enjoy this beach.

The sacred 13-acre Ke Kahua ‘o Kānei‘olouma complex in Po‘ipū, designated the Po‘ipū Beach Ma Uka Preserve, contains remnants of specialized ancient Hawaiian stone-walled enclosures for farming, play, gathering, and worship dating back to the 1400s. This wahi pana offers a glimpse into integrated community life before Western contact through the enclosed spaces that once fostered a bustling hub of daily activity in ancient Hawaii.

Kapaa Bike Path is one of the best places to ride along the coast in Kauai, it can be perfect to enjoy a ride surrounded by the beautiful coast landscape, while feeling the offshore breeze. It is 8 miles of a nice paved multi-use path that allows family-frendly cycling.

Shipwreck Beach has this name because Kaiolohia Bay’s coral reef has wrecked numerous ships along its shore, and there is still the hull of a ghostly oil tanker from the 1940s stuck there. This is a good beach for surfing, but not so much for swimming because of the high waves. The beach has some amenities, such as showers, picnic tables, and restrooms.

Lawai Beach is a short beach with some grassy area, it’s a good one for snorkeling, and it can be a good place to see turtles and the Hawaiian Monk Seal. This is a nice spot to see the sunset from a grassy area, just across the Lawai Beach Resort and fronting the Beach House Restaurant.

Lydgate Beach Park is a nice family-friendly beach with a recreation area around it. The beach can be a good option for swimming and snorkeling, with two rock-enclosed natural lagoons with different species of tropical fishes. It’s a nice safe haven from the open ocean waves, making it a good place for beginner snorkelers. The recreation area provides picnic areas, ‘Kamalani’ playground, and restrooms, and there is also a lifeguard at the beach. This is a perfect spot to end the ride along Kapaa Bike Path and enjoy the facilities of the park.

Wailua Beach is among many beautiful beaches in Kauai, the beach has some rocks and fallen trees along the coast, and some nice waves, giving a nice wilderness vibe to it. This is a good beach for surfers, kiteboarders, and fishers, but not so recommended for swimming, as the beach has no lifeguard, but one option for those who want to swim is to find a small rock-protected pool on the north end of Wailua.
