About one kilometer south of the village lies the St. Anne's Chapel, perched on a wooded hill. This secluded, isolated location affords the place a high degree of privacy and tranquility, making it a perfect place for contemplative visits and meditation. Even when the chapel is closed, one can retreat here for a peaceful rest, just as people did centuries ago. So it's not surprising that a hermitage inhabited by hermits once stood here. The wind turbine path along the Leitha between Gattendorf and Zurndorf is certainly one of the most beautiful in northern Burgenland. The soothing murmur of the Leitha and the shady path are good for the soul. A rest area next to the water with grazing or sleeping ducks and geese provide the rural feeling.
