The harbor warehouses in Wittenberge are striking historical buildings on the Elbe harbor and a testament to the city's industrial past. The warehouses were built in two phases. The first, smaller warehouse was constructed in 1910, while two larger warehouse buildings were added between 1938 and 1939. In recent years, extensive development projects have been launched around the harbor warehouses to revitalize the area and make it suitable for both residential and commercial use.

The windmill itself is worth seeing, and the rest area is well suited for a picnic.

As you travel along the Elbe dike, you will have a wonderful view of the Elbe valley meadows and the course of the Elbe River.

You should definitely take a ride on your road bike here, despite the cobblestones.

The Gnevsdorf Weir is located at the end of the approximately 10km stretch on the island between the receiving waters and the Elbe River. It has been passable again since 2024. Impressive engineering.

I particularly like the cycle path between the Elbe and the Havel tributaries, from Gnevsdorf to Quitzöbel. It's pure nature. There are two observation towers from which you can easily observe many animals, especially birds. Coming from Wittenberge, cycle over the Gnevsdorf weir and at the oxbow weir, return to the mainland to Quitzöbel, then cycle back to Wittenberge or to Netzow and then on to Werben and Havelberg.

The name of the "highlight" doesn't really fit here. Schnackenburg and Pevestorf are located on opposite sides of the Elbe. However, the section where the highlight is marked is located between Lütkenwisch and the Lenzener Schutzhafen.
