Expulsion, flight and new beginnings: From 1936 to 1945, DOBIMAR V. KAMEKE was the head of seed breeding in Streckenthin. On July 20, 1944, he was taken prisoner by Russian troops. He and his colleagues had no way of bringing the valuable potato collection or the seeds to safety for further cultivation. A hastily packed backpack with seeds that was supposed to secure a new beginning was lost during the escape.

The pews from the time of construction, the pulpit, combined with the pastor's chair, and an octagonal baptism made of wood. The brick and plastered altar table with reused, carved tendrils from a baroque altar. The bell of the previous building was reused, cast in 1824 by F. L.W. Thiel in Berlin.
