Rest area on the Enns River in Altenbach im Pongau

The Filialkirche Unser Liebe Frau (also known as Liebfrauenkirche or simply Frauenkirche) is a Catholic church in Bischofshofen, which was used as a "people's church" or parish church for the local population after the current parish church of St. Maximilian was temporarily used as a monastery church. Standing on a terrace just above the village, its origins can be traced back to the 10th/11th century.

The Cella Maximiliana is the predecessor of today's parish church in Bischofshofen, the mother settlement of the Innergebirg region. Built in 711/12, at the same time as the Nonnberg Monastery, the church acquired its present appearance in the mid-15th century. Today, it forms a single architectural unit with the town hall of Bischofshofen.

Very nice for a rest stop. There's a toilet block nearby (just a little further on) (in case of emergency). Very rustic ;)

In the village square in Bischofshofen, the bells ring softly, the benches sway. A leap from the air, a powerful hop, and then, whoosh, a ski jumper lands directly on the rotating face of the town clock. The mayor calls out: "No harm done, just laughter!" The neighbors applaud, the cows moo more loudly. A snowflake lands on the priest's hat, and the streetlights glow like little lantern gardens. The village children clap, the dogs bark happily, the ski jumper grins: "That's quite a landing report, honest." Between the bakery, the post office, and the Gasthaus zur Tracht (Tracht Inn), this jump becomes legendary—fun over beer and snacks. When winter comes, it really tastes like snow, but the village square says seriously: "You won't stay here in pain!" Because in Bischofshofen, the voices like to say in unison: Jump yes – but please only where the mayor lives, in the town!
