Nonshaugvatnet is a high mountain lake nestled in one of Jørenvågsalen's cirques. It enjoys a dramatic location beneath the southeast face of Knubben. Swimming is prohibited, as the lake is used for drinking water.

The standard Fjordruta trail between Trollstua and Gullsteinvolla heads for the saddle between Jurtinden and Skarven, while an alternative heads up Jørenvågsalen and skirts the summit of Leirtinden. For confident hikers, it's worth a little detour to take in the view from the summit.

Gullstein kirke is a beautiful church and a lovely foreground to Tustna and Stabblandet's peaks. It can hold up to 300 people and was built in 1869. The Fjordruta long-distance trail passes the building.

This section of the Fjordruta explores some lovely woodland at the foot of eastern Tustna's mountains. It's not far from here to the beautiful Gullstein kirke, built in the long church style and set to the backdrop of Tustna and Stabblandet's peaks.

The Nonshaugvatnet is a small lake where a short break is worthwhile.

Skarven (summit), from which you have a wonderful view deep into the mountains (Trollheimen). The fjord can be seen in almost every direction!

Here, the trail to Skarven turns off. Contrary to what's indicated on the maps, you can also continue north from the summit to reach the Gullsteinvollen hut. A path branches off toward the hut on the descent.
