The Ledegemse Meersen area has two hiking loops: A smaller, elevated loop on a semi-paved surface that remains accessible year-round, and a larger loop that more or less follows the boundaries of the area. This unpaved path will be inaccessible during periods of high water. A wooden bridge crosses the Heulebeek stream, and boardwalks have been constructed. You can choose your own route by switching between the two loops.

The church of Ledegem is dedicated to Saint Peter in the Bonds. This patron saint is worshipped before what is popularly known as "the Catherine Wheel." The current church dates from 1764 and was built after the previous church was destroyed by fire on Christmas Day 1763. The church possesses a magnificent pulpit and four beautiful confessionals, as well as several valuable paintings. "The Resurrection of Lazarus" by Joseph Ducq (Ledegem 1762 - Bruges 1829) dates from 1800 and is a copy of a 17th-century painting. Joseph Ducq is undoubtedly Ledegem's most famous painter. The St. Peter's Church was declared a protected monument on July 23, 1993. Source: ledegem.be

Chapel belonging to Oosthove, the farm whose history dates back to the first half of the 13th century and was once owned by the Cistercian Abbey of Moorsele. The chapel is dedicated to Our Lady. The chapel, like the farm and its surroundings, is protected.

In October 1918, soldiers of the 29th Division, who had finally recaptured Ledegem, began the construction of Ledeghem New Cemetery, as it was initially known. In 1951, 14 British soldiers who died in October 1914 and September/October 1918 and were buried in the cemetery were transferred here. There are now 85 British soldiers buried there (including 17 who could no longer be identified). Special Memorials were erected for two of the dead because their graves were never found and are believed to lie beneath the unmarked headstones. One victim is also commemorated with a Special Memorial because his grave in Ledegem cemetery was destroyed by artillery fire. Source: Wikipedia

"Oosthove" or "'t Goed te Wulfsdamme" refers to the nearby Wulfsdambeek stream. The Oosthove is first mentioned in 1236 in a deed of sale from the Wevelgem monastery. According to a map from 1771, it was situated differently than it is today. The farm was surrounded by a moat. It was rebuilt in 1778. That year is mentioned on the entrance gate. The house was rebuilt in 1793, probably on the former foundations. That year is mentioned above the front door. Source: ledegem.be

Ledegem and its surroundings are deeply marked by the First World War. The name of this path, which connects Rollegemstraat and Sint-Eloois-Winkelstraat, illustrates this. It's a slow path that leads you through fields, with a view of Ledegem church.

This farm was already indicated on the Ferraris map (1770-1778) as "Groot Fonchier" and on the Atlas der Buurtwegen (1844) as "Foncieregoed". "Foncier" is the term used in medieval feudal law to refer to the part of a manor occupied and cultivated by the lord himself. The current farm's appearance largely dates from the first half of the 19th century, with the exception of the farmhouse, which dates from 1922. Currently, the estate houses a farm butcher shop, "Wit-Blauw," which sells directly from producer to consumer. Sources: Inventory of Immovable Heritage & witblauwvleesbedrijf.be
