Nice view, you seem to be in the middle of nowhere

The church was first mentioned in 1165. The current three-aisled church was built in the 16th century. The heavy tower is particularly noteworthy. In 1909-1910, the church was extended by 7.2 meters along the west side. Claims of the Van der Gracht and De Ligne families (16th century) were reconstructed in the south wall. Interior paintings include those by Serafijn Vermote, and in the chancel stands a colored marble tombstone of the Basta family. The Ledegemse Meersen area has two hiking loops: A smaller, elevated loop on a semi-paved surface that remains accessible year-round, and a larger loop that more or less follows the boundaries of the area. This unpaved path will be inaccessible during periods of high water. A wooden bridge crosses the Heulebeek stream, and boardwalks have been constructed. You can choose your own route by switching between the two loops.
