The Upper Scheldt Canal Path near Gavere is a popular route for cyclists and walkers along the right bank of the Upper Scheldt, known for its tranquility and minimal traffic, and offering beautiful views of the river, industry, and shipping routes towards Ghent. It is part of the wider towpaths that run along the Scheldt and is managed by De Vlaamse Waterweg (Flemish Waterway), which carries out works to improve the infrastructure, from jetties to landscaping.

Munte to Botelare, a stop at 't Ketske, and back. It's the first time I'm sharing, but it's definitely worth it. I just had a wonderful afternoon.

The church is currently empty, and a new purpose is being sought. Meanwhile, the church is closed and no longer hosts Eucharistic celebrations. The church is still used for additional activities, such as organ concerts, Catholic school retreats, and so on.

The first mention of a church dates back to 977 and appears on a diploma of Emperor Otto II. The first church was a Romanesque church. In 1885, plans were made to enlarge the church and restore the tower, choir, and transept. However, the church was in such poor condition that it was demolished. Only the tower was preserved. The new and current church was designed according to the guidelines of the Neo-Scheldt Gothic style and was constructed of Tournai stone. The church has been a protected monument since 1945.

The two nature reserves, Grootmeers and Kleinmeers, are located along the Scheldt. Grootmeers is approximately 19 ha in size. Kleinmeers is close to the Asper lock and is a relatively small area. The area is freely accessible to walkers from sunrise to sunset. Boots are often necessary in wet periods. In winter, when the water level is high, the path through the Grootmeers (even with boots) is often difficult to walk. Dogs (even those not on a leash) are not allowed, partly because of the free-roaming grazers. Make sure you do not walk between the cows or get too close to the calves. (Natuurpunt)

This small, open post mill, on high dice, is undoubtedly one of the oldest and smallest mills in East Flanders. The year of construction is probably situated in the first half of the 14th century. The year 1154, as sometimes mentioned, is rather doubtful. The wooden standard mill was part of the possessions of the Saint Bavo's Abbey in Ghent and was already mentioned in 1388, following a restoration. In 1566, hedge sermons were held by Protestants on the mill dam. The mill has been protected since 1944. The miller's house, a typical small and low house, since 1982. In order to protect the remaining wind catch, the surrounding plots have been protected as landscape since 1977. On 18 November 1999, the province of East Flanders purchased the windmill.
