This cross stands in a very prominent location, forming an architectural unity with its multi-tiered stone base. This symbol of faith – erected on this spot over a century ago – towers far above the landscape of the Pays de Herve and is clearly visible from afar.

The center of Aubel, located in the Land of Herve, is a charming village center with historic buildings, a lively market and a rich tradition of regional products such as syrup, cheese and cider.

The Bèfve is a stream in Belgium that flows in the province of Liège, a tributary of the Berwinne, therefore a sub-tributary of the Meuse. This stream in the Pays de Herve rises between Elsaute and Thimister, crosses the latter town and then heads north, passing near Froidthier to reach the left bank of the Berwinne at an altitude of 173 m after a course of about 5 kilometres. The last hectometres of the Bèfve course mark the boundary between the municipalities of Herve and Thimister-Clermont.
