St. Georg is the Roman Catholic church in the municipality of Urmitz in the district of Mayen-Koblenz, named after its patron saint. It is on Kirchstrasse, about 20 meters from the banks of the Rhine. The official description of the Office of Mountain Care[Note. 1] from 1784 described the Urmitz church twelve years after its construction as "the most beautiful in office".[1] Since January 1, 2023, the previously independent parish church has belonged to the Heilig Geist parish, which combines the previously independent parishes in the Weißenthurm community. Here you can photograph the Urmitz railway bridge through a picture frame. This is located a few meters above the cycle path.

The chapel "Am Guten Mann" was previously mentioned as an infirmary because the Koblenz Carthusian monastery had built accommodation for leprosy patients here (16th and 17th centuries). After the plague had subsided around 1700, the dilapidated buildings stood empty, were temporarily inhabited by hermits and finally fell into disrepair. In 1795, the chapel belonging to it was completely destroyed as a towering landmark by French and Austrian troops shelling. In 1838 the Kärlicher community rebuilt the chapel, which has been preserved to this day, according to plans by the Koblenz architect J. von Lassaux.
