Francis of Assisi

The Gargano and the areas of San Giovanni Rotondo/San Marco are full of spectacular, technical tours with wonderful views. Come and immerse yourself in the forest.

It is a deciduous forest with the presence, between the convent of San Matteo and the Pinciara, of some evergreen species including the holm oak, for the arboreal plants and the ivy, the laurine grass and the butcher's broom, widespread throughout the undergrowth , among the shrubby ones.

It has a surface area of approximately 2,000 hectares and is almost divided in half by the San Marco in Lamis-Cagnano local road which runs for just over 5 km.

Leave the dolina on the right and continue straight ahead. Nice path in the middle of the Gargano promontory, rocky but easy to ride. Wonderful view of Monte Calvo. Close the rudimentary gates on the way.

The dolina is typical of the Gargano due to its karstic structure. There are several throughout the Gargano. In some cases they can conceal caves.
